Year 5 Trip to Manchester Museum

Year 5 had a fantastic trip to Manchester Museum today.  They found out all about the Ancient Egyptians and in particular Asru (the mummy). They also spent time measuring the different animals in the museum and comparing them to each other.

Year 5 Trip to Staffordshire University

Last Friday, Year 5 were lucky enough to visit Staffordshire University.  They got chance to tour the university kitchen, explore the campus and visit the mock court room.  It was a very exciting day and the children really enjoyed discussing what subjects they might like to study at university in the future.

Comic Relief Fundraising

On Friday 24th March we did lots of fundraising activities for Comic Relief including The Big Breakfast, a bake sale (organised by girls in Year 5 which raised £84.50) and bring £1 to wear red. The full total is not yet known but all money raised will be used to support great causes.

Merit Assembly

Another fantastic celebration in assembly today – great to hear how hard all the children have been working.  It was fantastic to also be able to share some football trophies which had been won by children playing for teams outside of school. Well done everyone!

Merit Assembly

Congratulations to all the children who received certificates in assembly today. The certificates were awarded for a range of reasons including excellent resilience in maths, great vocabulary choices in literacy and excellent learning behaviours.  Keep working hard everyone, next week it could be you!
